St Orsola Mission Catholic Hospital is a Level 4 hospital, fully equipped with medical facilities and highly qualified doctors and medical practitioners. It contains over 150 beds, two operation theatres with modern machines, labour ward, pediatric and neonatal unit, general ward, radiology department with modern Xray machines, POP room, dental unit, outpatient department, nutritional center, eye clinic, CCC (Comprehensive Care Clinic), pharmacy, and analysis laboratory.
St Orsola Catholic Mission Hospital is a Hospital founded in the year2003 by the Consolata missionary congregation from Turin with the help of many associations in Italy. Currently the hospital is under the Catholic Diocese of Meru.
It is located in Chiakariga ward, Tharaka South sub county n Tharaka-Nithi County. The hospital was developed starting on the pre-existing “maternity”.
Following the formal acknowledgement by the ministry of health, it started to provide the
obstetric and pediatric services. Now the hospital offers all the services required by the ever-
growing population within the county and beyond.
St. Orsola started its activities on 5th of October 2003 and was inaugurated on 30th of January
2004 in collaboration with: -
Centre of orthopedic cases, colonoscopy and Gastroscopy, Modern ultrasound, X-Ray, Physician clinics, Dental, Paedetrician and Gynaecology Services
